Spotlighting Our Partner,
The University of Notre Dame
120 Tons of Food Rescued
$100,000 Donated
500 Volunteer Shifts Since 2021
Saying that Cultivate wouldn’t be where we are without the University of Notre Dame is an understatement!
In the summer of 2016, the University and Cultivate collaborated on ways to reduce food waste in an effort to promote sustainability in the new football stadium. Since that meeting of the minds, Cultivate has been rescuing food during each home game. Rescues quickly expanded to the dining halls, basketball games, hockey games and other venues. Students have helped Cultivate with over 15 research projects and contributed expertise through undergraduate and graduate internships.
Notre Dame volunteers pack meals and help in the kitchen. Several staff serve as board and committee members. Students, faculty, and staff are donors and champions of our mission. The university’s impact on our vision and our community is a lasting one. Thank you for all that you do!
Cleats for a Cause
It is an incredible honor to be selected as one of four charities to participate in Cleats for a Cause with Notre Dame Football and Under Armour! The players will wear custom cleats on October 22nd against UNLV. The cleats will then be auctioned off to benefit Cultivate Food Rescue, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County YMCA of Greater Michiana.
