Outdoor construction in November in northern Indiana isn’t for the faint of heart so DJ Construction is making the best of the unseasonably warm and sunny weather. Recent updates include walls in the new office space, framing for the entire building, and cement and asphalt for the entrance and parking. The goal is to have the space completely enclosed with walls and a roof before winter settles in. While signatures and paperwork delayed the expansion of our existing parking lot, rest assured that it will be coming!
Daring expansions demand determination, hard work, faith, support, and resources. Our partners never fail us in these areas. The Community Foundation of St. Joseph County is a shining example of this. With their matching campaign grant, we were able to secure a half million dollars towards the project. Additionally, having the confidence and backing of such a well-respected part of the community is integral to raising additional funds.
We’ve secured funding for the building project, but the overall Capital Campaign is a larger endeavor. The full project includes office space, expanded parking, a volunteer location in Elkhart County, endowment seed money, and operational funds. We’ve raised $8 million of the $10 million.
