February Construction Update

It was just last August when we hung this “Watch Us Grow” sign on the construction fence.

Look how far we’ve come! In just six short months, we are nearing the finish line. The office space is nearly complete. Concrete was poured inside the freezer area. Refrigeration units were installed. Maybe the most buzzworthy update this month is the new signage! It is quite a source of pride for our devoted volunteers who’ve watched the progress right along with us.

As we see the end in sight, we’re moving our attention to landscape design, solar energy efficiencies, and updated plans for both staff and volunteer spaces within our existing building. And while we already service students and pantries in Elkhart County, we are now planning our expanded physical footprint there, planning for a volunteer space to open in the fourth quarter of THIS YEAR! Stay tuned for updates.

We’ve also reached the homestretch of fundraising for this ambitious $10.6 Million project, having secured just over $9 Million. This includes an incredibly generous donation from the Gurley Leep Family of $375K. Will you help us reach the finish line? Every dollar counts.
