Reaching New Heights

We’re going to new heights in South Bend’s cold storage warehouse. With the donation of a narrow aisle reach truck, Cultivate operations can now access the higher levels of the building’s racking. On pace to rescue 6 million pounds of food this year and plans to more than triple that, equipment like this is key to efficiency. A huge thank you to the Tippmann Group out of Fort Wayne and board member, John Tippmann III for this generous donation. It’s not quite Mount Everest but at 0 degrees in the freezer; it sure feels like it!

Light up the Holiday Season

Enjoy the holiday lights while helping rescue food and fight hunger in our community.

Because of you, there were no empty tables this Thanksgiving. Thanks to generous donors and volunteers, we met our goal of providing Thanksgiving meals to 400 families across our community. As Selina Alcantar, Youth Program and Events Coordinator at Unity Gardens, shared, “People are really grateful. It’s an act of joy and sharing to be able to be here and see all these families who would’ve had to stress over providing this meal or just not celebrate the holiday in general.”

And, the impact didn’t stop there. Your generosity also helped us meet our $10,000 Giving Tuesday match, thanks to Amazon’s support. Together, you turned a season of potential stress into one of dignity, celebration, and shared joy. Thank you for making moments like these possible.

Habitat for Humanity

Helping Families Feel at Home

We were honored to receive Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County’s Non-Profit Community Partner of the Year Award. Along with the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, we stock the fridge, freezer, and pantry of each new homeowner. Cultivate Chefs April and Cooper also provide freshly prepared appetizers and snacks for each home dedication ceremony. It’s a special way for us to say “Welcome Home” to the new homeowners.

This is one of the many truly special community partnerships we share!

Cultivate set a record for the second consecutive month! Key donors in this milestone include Target Mishawaka (the power outage rescue) and Stanz/Raydia (final donation as they go out of business).
